Makita BTW450Z vs BTW253Z Impact Wrench? What should I get?
Makita has a promo where they are giving away a free tool when you buy a kit. I'm trying to decide between the BTW450Z and BTW253Z.
About me: I've got a few small cars but I'm not a "Gear head". I do work on a 1947 Jeep as a hobby... I'm a DIY'er but don't do major construction projects.

There's so many heavy duty jobs you need the 1/2 inch Impact Wrench for so I'd recommend it. And you can still adapt the 1/2 down to 3/8 Of course the 1/2 won't fit in as many confined spaces as well as the 3/8 The key thing is that either wrench uses newer technology Lithium Niobate rechargeable batteries. I wouldn't want something that used a Nickel Cadmium battery, "free" or not. Even the 1/2 inch won't be powerful enough for loosening some wheel lug nuts or breaking loose some rusty bolts etc.
